Annual Ohio Scholarships
BMSA’s Evan & Pam Jones Student Scholarships have been an annual part of Ohio association history since its first award in 2009. Each subsequent year, two employees or employee dependents have been awarded $1000 each to help cover the cost of higher education.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be an employee or a dependent of an owner or employee (spouse, child, or grandchild) of an Ohio member in good standing of the Building Material Suppliers Association.
- Employees must have been employed by the member company for one-year preceding January 1st of the award year.
- The application and all supporting material must be postmarked (faxing is not permitted) by April 1st and received by BMSA to be eligible for consideration. Scholarship winners will be notified by May 31st.
Scholarship awards are for one year in the amount of $1,000 each, payable in two installments of $500. The second installment is contingent upon passing grades for the prior term. Scholarship awards are contingent upon verification of enrollment in a college, university, or vocational program of higher learning for the fall term. BMSA will pay scholarship awards directly to the school upon verification of enrollment. The award must be applied to tuition, room, or board for the student.
